The Inspiration:
My Love Affair with Mid-Century Aesthetics
I’ve been thinking about making this series for awhile now. Some of you even have my first drafts as gifts.
But I eventually landed on this aesthetic because I’ve always been drawn to the bold yet simplistic elegance of mid-century design, particularly the vibrant geometric forms of Bauhaus and the organic, free-flowing artistry of Matisse’s cut-outs.
These influences are woven into every Luxe Elixirs print—a fusion of structured modernism with playful, artistic spontaneity.
The result? A collection that feels both vintage and fresh, like the perfect cocktail mix.
With each design I wanted to capture the essence of these signature drinks — from the zesty liveliness of a Margarita to the refined effervescence of an Aperol Spritz — using soft pastels, striking abstract shapes, and carefully curated compositions that make every print a showstopper.
The Paloma
Mexico’s Beloved Tequila Cocktail
The Art: Soft greens, coral pinks, and abstract citrus motifs reflect the zesty charm of this tequila-based drink.
The Story: Born in Mexico, the Paloma is often considered the country’s most beloved tequila cocktail.
Traditionally made with tequila, grapefruit soda, and lime juice, its origins are unclear, but many believe it was first created by Don Javier Delgado Corona, owner of the legendary La Capilla bar in Tequila, Jalisco.
The Recipe:
INGREDIENTS
1/2 lime
2 oz tequila
1 1/2 oz grapefruit juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
Pinch of salt
Add grapefruit slice
Aperol Spritz
Italy’s Iconic Aperitivo
The Art: Warm peach and blush pink tones with mint green and bold, graphic elements embody the effortlessly cool Aperol Spritz.
The Story: Originating in Italy, the Aperol Spritz traces its roots back to the 1800s when Austrian soldiers in Northern Italy diluted local wines with a “spritz” of water. It wasn’t until the 1950s that Aperol—a bittersweet, peach-hued aperitif—became the star of this now-iconic drink.
Today, the Aperol Spritz is synonymous with European elegance and leisurely summer afternoons.
The Recipe:
INGREDIENTS
3 parts prosecco
2 parts aperol
1 part soda water
Add orange slice

The Story: The Margarita’s origin is shrouded in mystery, with multiple claims to its invention.
Regardless of its true beginnings, the Margarita has remained a symbol of refreshing, citrusy indulgence.

INGREDIENTS
3 cups water
1 ½ cups cointreau
1 ½ cups fresh lime juice
1 ½ cups silver tequila
1 lime, cut into 8 wedges
Garnish with salt
