Perfect gifts can be hard to find, but with this unique art featuring my newest beautiful African American woman, you’re sure to give a great gift every time.
Whether you’re buying for a friend, boss, co-worker, or family member they’re sure to love its distinctive, Sugarluxe design.
Celebration of African Symbolism
Habari Gani! This a Swahili term meaning “What is the news?” It is spoken when greeting others during Kwanzaa.
Kwanzaa is a weeklong celebration held in the United States that honors African heritage in African-American culture. Kwanzaa is observed from December 26th to January 1st, and culminates in gift giving and a big feast.
This festival of lights is rich in African symbolism and takes place each year at the end of December. It’s a joyous holiday that draws inspiration from time-honored African customs related to harvest celebrations and community ideals of shared work, purpose, and creativity.
The celebration is not a festival originating in any of the 55 African countries nor is it an “African” Christmas celebration. Kwanzaa is an African-Americans celebration of life.
Seven Principles of Kwanzaa
The holiday is meant to connect with African roots and promote unity and growth through its seven principles:
- Umoja (Unity)
- Kujichagulia (Self-determination)
- Ujima (Responsibility)
- Ujamaa (Economics)
- Nia (Purpose)
- Kuumba (Creativity)
- Imani (Faith)
Design Inspiration
I hope you love this new beautiful African-American woman. Plus, I really connect with the tribal print inspired design, the colorful patterns, and the celebratory candles glowing with their gorgeous flames.
When creating the palette, I wanted to use colors of the celebration with vibrant reds, bold greens and yellow golds. But also include signature touches of pink, blush, and turquoise.
When I announced I was bringing back my Sugarluxe Girl Art, I’d mentioned I didn’t want to spend time manufacturing again (at least for now) because I’d rather invest my time into making new artwork.
So, I tested a few product manufacturers and print-on-demand products. What I discovered is that Zazzle by far offers the biggest range of products with the best quality output.
What Would You Like to See?
Even though I ordered test products of these printables for myself, I have never used this provider to sell and ship items to customers. As a result, I’ve started with just a couple of gift ideas. I hope you will give me feedback on your experience when you order. If all goes well, I’ll be anxious to offer more gift products.
Also, I’m eager to hear what you’d like to see available if you’d like to share. Let me know in the comments.
Happy Kwanzaa,
Chandra
